Arnold “Arnie” Earl Raffone, 81, of Lancaster, PA. passed away peacefully in his home on Jan. 14, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Arnie was born on Staten Island, on Sept. 18, 1942. In his youth, Arnie was an exceptional basketball player and, being a product of the rock and roll era, he had a lifelong love of dancing.

    NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The first-ever parade organized by Macy’s took place in 1924 and was known as the Christmas Parade. The event featured marching elephants, as well as many other circus-like acts. In 1927, the animals were replaced with balloons -- marking the first official Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as we know it today.     NEW YORK, N.Y. — More than 1500 protestors calling for an end to the Israel-Hamas war flooded Midtown Manhattan streets on Thursday, Nov. 9, assembling on the steps of the New York Public Library (NYPL) on 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue. Those in attendance held signs that read “Free Palestine” and “We Demands a Ceasefire Now.”A smaller group of counter-protestors assembled across the street from the NYPL, but a large NYPD presence kept the two groups apart.
