Tariffs. It might be the word of the year as the Trump administration fights what they call unfair trade practices by other countries. While there is some movement towards news deals, nothing is set in stone yet. By taxing U.S. imports, other countries have responded by taxing U.S. exports and that has a trickle-down effect, particularly with farmers. Many are now dealing with the uncertainty of the future. While working his fields, WLWT spoke with David Clark, a partner with Mike Farm Enterprises.

The Indianapolis 500 wasn't the only race event happening this Memorial Day weekend.One of the biggest karting weekends of the year was held Sunday in Batavia.More than 200 drivers of all ages from around the world descended upon the SKUSA Spring Nationals at Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati.The event marks the halfway point of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, with top names like Gavin Bayliff, Billy Musgrave and Ryan Norberg hitting the track.

Tuesday was decision day at the University of Cincinnati, where future Bearcats find out if they were admitted to the school. WLWT was in attendance as the first and second students in the class found out the news – and their admission came with a full-ride scholarship surprise. It was a life-changing moment in front of their senior class for two students at Withrow University High School. Harsh Minash and Oliver Tiani Vessah got the surprise they had been working so hard to achieve.

Yard sign season is in full swing in Ohio, with just over a month left until the November election. Besides signs for the presidential election, you may have also noticed signs for or against Issue One popping up in yards across the state. Issue One is Ohio’s proposed redistricting amendment. Voters will have the option to either vote “Yes” or “No” on it. As with almost any political issue, each side of the aisle is making its case for voters to vote one way or another.

Nearly 5,000 applications were submitted by Kentucky businesses to obtain a license to sell medical marijuana. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear gave more insight into who applied for them and how the state will award those permits. Who is selected to get a permit will be determined by a lottery. Considering the amount of applications compared to available permits, it could be like winning a golden ticket.
