WHITEHALL, Wis. (WLAX.WEUX) – One person is critically injured after a semi hit a hay bale that flew off of a trailer. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office reports that a truck and trailer loaded with large hay bales was traveling north on Highway 93 and a semi was traveling south. Witnesses said a gust of wind came across the road and a bale of hay fell off the trailer as it was passing the semi. The bale hit the driver’s side windshield.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – La Crosse is celbrating earth Day! 55 years ago, Wisconsin Governor Gaylord Nelson initiated the worldwide day of environmental awareness known as Earth Day. For the past 17 years, La Crosse has been holding the Earth Fair in celebration of that momentous celebration. This year’s free, family-friendly event will be Sunday, April 27, from 11 am to 4 pm at the Nature Place in Myrick Park, with indoor and outdoor events planned for all ages.
