    CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — There is a lot going on in the Illinois wheat industry. Production increases, a new check-off program starting up and the Illinois Wheat Association’s yield tour last week projected a very good yield this year. President John Howell tallied the numbers, and he’s quite pleased. “Sampled 89 fields throughout today, and the average yield for all counties in Illinois, we determined it to be 106.171,” Howell said to a crowd assembled at Riggs Brewery.
