For devotees of musical theater, it’s Broadway all the way, including sideways. Voices of Note, Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ vocal ensemble collective, is presenting a new musical concert showcase, “Broadway Sideways,” with members of both the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and the Atlanta Women’s Chorus. The concert celebrates great showtunes, including the new original composition “Broadway Sideways” by musical director and arranger Jason Wynn. They are performing at Out Front Theatre Company on May 31.

The world’s biggest fan-voted awards show, the American Music Awards, is returning after a two-year hiatus. This year, the AMAs greet a pop music industry roiling with energy, dramatic beefs, breakout stars and reigning royalty. The 2025 nominee announcements are out, with Kendrick Lamar carrying the most nominations of any artist, and AMA megastars like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé holding their ground. Each episode spotlights a local Atlanta musician, where viewers can hear about their creative process and watch them perform a couple of songs. The weekly segments are released on WABE’s YouTube channel every Wednesday. The first in this season’s episode spotlighted the Atlanta-based band Arkose.
