    A mother who allegedly murdered her two children will not have her case heard again in court until later in the year. The 42-year-old was arrested in September last year after her two boys, aged 9 and 11, were found in their beds with stab wounds at their Faulconbridge home in the NSW Blue Mountains. The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard with self-inflicted injuries. She was later charged with two counts of murder (DV). She is yet to enter any pleas.

    A man has been charged with murder after a body was found inside a home in Sydney’s west. NSW Police were called to the home on Courallie Ave in Homebush West about 11.30pm on Fridays following reports of welfare concerns. Officers found the body of a 65-year-old man in the home upon arrival. The police said on Saturday morning they arrested a 31-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to Auburn Police Station, and following an investigation, he was charged with murder.

    A body has been found inside a home in Queensland’s southwest that was gutted by fire overnight, leaving another three people fighting for their lives in hospital. The home on Merritt St, Harristown was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at about 12.30am on Wednesday. Initial investigations indicate six people – a 34-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and four children – were able to escape the property after the fire broke out, police say.
