COLUMBIA, S.C. — The unofficial summer season has begun. We are past Memorial Day and graduations are winding down this weekend (congrats!). Bear in mind that some outdoor activities might be compromised due to predicted storms on Friday, but the rest of the weekend should be sunny and warm. Speaking of Friday, that marks the opening season for Blowfish baseball in Lexington.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — This is Memorial Day Weekend – the official start of the summer season. In Richland County, the public pools will open this weekend and next before the regular season begins on June 4. If you’re heading up to Lake Murray Public Park, don’t forget a brand-new admission process is in place. Entry to the beach area is by reservation only. Dominion Energy, who maintains the park, said guests can reserve a single-use, $5 day pass up to three weeks in advance.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sunday is Mother's Day. If you haven't already made plans for brunch on Sunday, there's plenty to do on the lead-up, whether it's an adult evening out or a family-friendly event where you can bring the kiddos. Lovers of all things chicken-related can celebrate the bird at the South Carolina Poultry Festival beginning on Thursday night with rides and games through Saturday's all day event with a parade, car show and Poultry BBQ Cookoff.
