The School District of Pickens County is restructuring its preschool programs to include 'experiential learning environments' for 4K students. Report shows minors make up majority of human trafficking victims

In South Carolina, the majority of potential human trafficking victims in 2024 were minors. That’s according to the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force Annual Report released in January. The report says, in 2024, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) investigated 285 tips that included 392 potential victims. 315 of those were minors — that’s 80 percent. “A lot of kids could be runaways, marginalized, come from broken homes,” said South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

VP-elect JD Vance visits Western North Carolina

Vice President-elect JD Vance spent Friday afternoon in Western North Carolina, where he toured storm damage, received updates on recovery efforts and thanked first responders in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Vance began the afternoon at the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, where he met with first responders and thanked them for their response to the storm. Spartanburg District 6 has a school farm, Cragmoor Farms, where they grow seasonal crops. Then Feed & Seed Co. helps them get those vegetables ready to serve to the students.
