The Peace Center has announced its 10-show 2025-26 Peace Broadway Season. The season kicks off Sept. 2-7, 2025, with "MJ the Musical." The show is returning to the Peace Center after a sold-out Greenville premiere in 2023. From Oct. 21-26, 2025, the New York Times bestselling novel "Water for Elephants"will come to life on stage. "The Sound of Music"will return to the Peace Center from Nov. 11-16, 2025. 2025 also marks the 60th anniversary of the Oscar-winning film.

'A totally immersive environment': Upstate school district makes changes to 4K

Report shows minors make up majority of human trafficking victims

In South Carolina, the majority of potential human trafficking victims in 2024 were minors. That’s according to the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force Annual Report released in January. The report says, in 2024, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) investigated 285 tips that included 392 potential victims. 315 of those were minors — that’s 80 percent. “A lot of kids could be runaways, marginalized, come from broken homes,” said South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

VP-elect JD Vance visits Western North Carolina

Vice President-elect JD Vance spent Friday afternoon in Western North Carolina, where he toured storm damage, received updates on recovery efforts and thanked first responders in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Vance began the afternoon at the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, where he met with first responders and thanked them for their response to the storm. He also met with the family of Battalion Chief Tony Ray Garrison, who died while rescuing victims of a landslide caused by Helene.
