With under 80 days until the Paris games, the team has launched 'Tour de Fern-Sprint for the Fern' in partnership with Cycling NZ. The event encourages people to use the state-of-the art Technogym Ride smart bikes to have a taste of what it's like to race 300 metres along the Champs-Élysées. "It's so cool you can get that little experience of being in France", Olympic medallist Ellesse Andrews said.

Teenage hammer thrower Elizabeth Hewitt hopes the her first medal for New Zealand is the first of many. The 19-year-old Hewitt has won a silver medal at the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands, with a throw of 53.79 metres. "It was such an amazing experience. The support was just unreal, and I feel very privileged to stand up there and win the first medal for athletics."The New Zealand team has already claimed one gold, three silvers and one bronze after day two in athletics so far.

New Zealand Cricket has selected the first Aotearoa Māori women's cricket team, which will compete in the Pacific Cup tournament in Tāmaki Makaurau next year. The team will be coached by former White Ferns captain Maia Lewis (Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Māniapoto).
