EUGENE, Ore. — Striking Bigfoot workers are taking the picket lines to a beverage trade show being presented by Bigfoot Tuesday night in downtown Eugene. The trade show is taking place at Venue 252. Bigfoot workers have been on strike for more than 200 days, trying to protect their pension plans and to stop Bigfoot from putting retirement funds into market-based accounts. The striking workers say the distribution company no longer recognizes the Teamsters union representing them.

In an update sent to our newsroom, the university tells us that they were not informed in advance and were not given details about the nature of the charges. Should a student's F-1 visa be terminated, UO is required to inform students.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — An assault and kidnapping in the 500 block of S. 72nd St. in Springfield Friday night. A reported man was assaulting a female and a male inside the house. This was around 9:48 p.m.Springfield Police was able to help the male victim away from the house and then surrounded it, calling for other residents to exit. Later, the female victim exited the house.
