It's so often the little things that dictate our experience of an event or occasion. The attentiveness of a waiter, the flourish of a fresh flower as a garnish, or the hand cream in the bathroom - all these small touches add to our experience of a place or event. The same can be true of special occasions or festive get-togethers. I’ve been thinking lately about how to bring more of these magical touches to my Christmas.

A 12-year-old boy had a lucky escape after he fell into a frozen pond in Dundee, Michigan. The young boy’s life was saved by some incredible heroes, including a policeman and a truck driver. Both Jonathan Garza and Dundee Police Department Officer, Joe Schumaker, happened to be in the area at the time of the incident. Just before 9:00 am, the 12-year-old boy was spotted falling into the frozen water in Dundee. Garza was nearby when he spotted the horrifying incident happen.

It can be impossible to divide your attention between your children let alone keep them both entertained. Several household food staples are due to reduce in price across the next 12 months, according to an Irish economist. This comes as the rate of inflation is expected to drop to 3.2% this year and will continue to fall further to 2.3% in 2025. The past few years have seen families across Ireland struggling to make ends meet as prices surged in many areas.
