A British GP has advised people to get checked if they can hear a “heartbeat” sound in their ears. The condition is known as Pulsatile Tinnitus (PT) and leads to people hearing a whooshing sensation, similar to that of a heartbeat. We all try our best, but sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes we miss appointments or run late for school collection. Being late for pick-up can be stressful for both the parent and their child, but we never mean to be. Sometimes life just gets in the way or the car stops working or the traffic decides to be particularly slow.

Though it can seem like a wonderful trait for your child to have, in some circumstances, it could be a warning sign of something more. Psychologist Briony Leo warned that if your child seems more mature for their age, it could indicate that there is external pressure influencing their behavioural choices. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Briony explained that in most cases some children are more mature than others and it’s nothing to worry about.
