As Grace Johnson sang at her University of Georgia graduation ceremony Friday night, she looked out into the large crowd and saw students embracing each other, swaying to the music while illuminating the sky with their cellphone flashlights. She admittedly was a ball of nerves on that Sanford Stadium stage waiting for her time to sing the state’s official song, “Georgia on My Mind,” in front of nearly 6,000 fellow undergraduates as part of the university’s new tradition.

If you see a ton of police activity there Wednesday during the afternoon rush hour, it's nothing fishy: Atlanta law enforcement officers will be conducting "scenario-based training"at the popular attraction. Nearby Baker Street will close to vehicles and pedestrians 4-11 p.m. The aquarium also will close to the public two hours early,at 4 p.m., according to a spokesperson.

Rain will roll through north and central Georgia, including parts of metro Atlanta, on Monday, bringing a slight risk for scattered severe storms after several wet days. The storms could produce damaging winds with a slight chance of hail and an isolated, brief tornado, according to the National Weather Service. Emory University announced Monday’s commencement ceremony has been moved indoors because of the severe weather risk.
