    A Spalding County deputy was arrested for driving under the influence after he showed up for work Wednesday evening, officials said. Deputy Andrew Degler, who had been with the sheriff’s office for nearly 12 years, reported for duty at 7 p.m. and “appeared to be under the influence of alcohol,” a press release stated. A preliminary breath test came back positive, authorities said. Degler was fired and arrested on a charge of DUI.

    Two people were shot at a DeKalb County business Saturday morning. The incident happened inside a business in the 4800 block of Rockbridge Road. Police crowded the parking lot of an Ingles at the corner of Rockbridge and Hairston roads, and police tape blocked an entrance to the grocery store, according to Channel 2 Action News. Officials said multiple people who knew each other got into a dispute inside the business, and the situation escalated to gunfire.

    A quick stop at a DeKalb County gas station ended in tragedy when a man was gunned down. More than two years later, two men were found guilty of murder. Atlanta police spokesperson Lamar Jacobs confirmed that the incident occurred near 157 Forsyth Street and that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is involved. Atlanta police are assisting at the scene, Jacobs saidA spokesperson for the Fulton sheriff’s office confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that one of its deputies was shot.
