BENJAMIN Moyo, the district schools inspector for the Harare High Glen District, has labelled a play adapted from the Giles Kuimba novel Tambaoga performed by the Vuka Africa Performing Arts Trust a key step in promoting local languages. Speaking after a product test performance of the play, Tambaoga, at the Zimbabwe Hall in Highfield recently, Moyo said the play was a perfect remedy for social correction of the youth who are easily enticed by foreign languages at the expense of local languages.

PROLIFIC choreographer Tafadzwa Tandi-Chingono, popularly known as Tichaona Hillary Indi, has urged dance practitioners to be the best versions of themselves. Indi, who is also the founder and director of the Elysium Magna Dance Theatre, has been in the dance industry for close to two decades and was nominated for the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama23) in the Outstanding Choreographer category together with Future Dube of Khaya Arts Productions and Tichaona Chikara from Salt ’n Light.

AFFECTIONATELY known as Tete Spedia, teacher and ex-cop Spedia Nyikambatonga has said her latest music video Don't Touch is targeted at fighting child abuse. She said the video sought to educate children about child molestation, anatomy and body parts, inspired by her experience as an ex-police officer and an early childhood development (ECD) teacher. The core message of Don't Touch is that children have the right to refuse unwanted touch and that their bodies belong to them.

SINGER Agga Nyabinde and his Afro-fusion outfit the 2 Nice Band are now known for performing music continuously for close to four hours without notable breaks. The musician serenaded diners on Valentine’s Day on Friday last week and the following day, leading the 2 Nice Band in two consecutive inspirational acts as they celebrated their birthdays while sharing love and affection at the Cresta Oasis Hotel and the Gava Restaurant, respectively.
