Appomattox County Sheriff confirms remains of missing Gary Parsons found

APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR) - The Appomattox County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the remains found along Route 460 in March belong to missing person Gary Joseph Parsons. Results of an autopsy performed by the Medical Examiner released on Monday, April 14, confirmed that the body found on Richmond Highway near Mountain Cut Road on March 19 belonged to Gary Joseph Parsons of Appomattox, who went missing in 2022. The sheriff said the cause of death is still pending with the Medical Examiner.
School buses involved in minor accident in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR) - Montgomery County Public Schools has reported an accident involving two school buses with students while on the way to a field trip on April 15. In a release from MCPS, officials said students were on the way to a field trip when a crash occurred. EMS and MCPS staff responded to the scene and found two buses involved in the accident. ( WFXR) - The Virginia Department of Transportation is reporting a tractor-trailer accident on US-460 near the ramp intersection to Routes 501 & 501 BUS, causing delays.
