SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Zoo over the past few weeks has gained a lot of attention for one thing or another, and WMDT has been keeping up with Zoo’s Director and has the latest update. The Salisbury Zoo is saying goodbye to 15-year-old Chaska, their beloved Andean bear. She’s all ready for retirement, and because she was such a beauty, her bloodline will help preserve the species. Zoo Director Chuck Eicholtz says it a bittersweet occasion, but things are in the works.
