FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– Forest Acres Police are searching for two people accused of being involved in a residential burglary that happened on Saturday. Investigators say the burglary happened in the 5800 block of Pinebranch Road on Saturday, May 24. According to FAPD investigators, video footage from inside the Pinebranch Road home shows two men walking around the home, and one person visibly carrying a firearm.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia PD is searching for a missing vulnerable 72-year-old woman, say officers. CPD’s Special Victims Unit investigators say 72-year-old Alice Lewis was last seen walking along the 2000 block of Main Street earlier this week wearing a black raincoat. She stands at about 5’05 “, and weighs around 160 lbs, with gray hair. Investigators believe Lewis likely doesn’t have her necessary medications. Anyone who sees Lewis is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials say contractors for City of Columbia Water Department has plans to close a section of the Riverfront Park trail beginning on Monday. The Monday, June 2 closure will last for about six months for construction of a new water intake on the Broad River. City officials say the work will include installation of barges in the canal and construction of a cofferdam in the river. The areas affected are downstream of the I-126 bridge and railroad trestle.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The City of Columbia’s Mayor’s Office has partnered with EMS CLOSET to launch a clothing drive for Midlands students, according to the city. City officials say, volunteer-driven nonprofit EMS CLOSET is launching its annual “On the Right Foot: Back-to-School Clothing Drive” beginning on May 29, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office.
