Jermaine Donald, 42, who was jailed on charges of second-degree murder and other crimes prior to his escape, was taken into custody in Texas with another inmate accused of fleeing Orleans Justice Center on May 16, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill said in a statement.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the investigation is in its early stages and declined further comment. Lawyers for the plaintiffs said the investigation, first reported by TMZ, is linked to the lawsuit.
