    BROCKTON (WBSM) — A Taunton man and his brother were both indicted today in Plymouth Superior Court in connection with a murder in Abington back in December. According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Antonio Lopes, 37, of Taunton and his brother Suzito Lopes, 43, of Quincy were both indicted today on one count each of murder. In addition, Antonio Lopes is charged with one count of unlicensed possession of a firearm. Both men pleaded not guilty and were held without bail.

    BOSTON (WBSM) — A former Massachusetts State Police trooper from Wareham pleaded guilty recently in federal court to his role in an alleged conspiracy to falsify records by giving passing scores to Commercial Driver’s License applicants. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Perry Mendes, 64, was accused of giving passing scores to CDL applicants that included those who had failed or did not take the CDL skills test as required by law.

    WAREHAM (WBSM) — One person died as the result of a mobile home fire Friday night in Wareham. According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Wareham Fire Department responded to 102 Kimberly Court in the Garden Homes North mobile home park at about 8:40 p.m. on April 11 for a reported fire. Crews arrived to find the mobile home fully involved with heavy smoke and flames. A second alarm was quickly sounded for additional personnel and apparatus.

    CARVER (WBSM) — As the fate of Carver’s Edaville Family Theme Park remains uncertain, pieces of the park’s history are being removed and taken elsewhere in order to make room for the relocating King Richard’s Faire. Earlier today, King Richard’s Faire put out a press release regarding its relocation to the Edaville property after the new owners of the Faire also reportedly purchased Edaville. WBSM was first to report last month of the park’s sale and the Faire’s impending move.

    SWANSEA (WBSM) — Some quick thinking by a resident helped keep a house fire in Swansea this morning from becoming a far worse incident. According to Swansea Deputy Fire Chief Michael Patterson, crews responded to a 911 call reporting a house fire at 262 Mount Fair Circle at about 3:47 a.m. today. He said crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house, as residents were in the process of evacuating the home and removing several pets.
