    LA VALLE / GREEN BAY, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Carr Valley Cheese of La Valle, Wi took home six top awards at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest in Green Bay. There were over 2,400 entries from 31 states. Not only did the Carr Valley Cheesemakers receive six awards, two of their cheeses made it into the prestigious Top 20 in the “Race for the Championship“.

    U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., has introduced new legislation that seeks to close a tax loophole pertaining to carried interest that allows some investors to pay less income tax. The new measure, called the Carried Interest Fairness Act, in effect seeks to block the loophole by stipulating that carried interest income be taxed like regular income.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – Big accumulations are on the way after the state is around 4 snow storms shy of where we should be in winter snow totals. It’s like last year almost wanted to repeat itself, mimicking minimal snowfall as systems pass. On average, the state is around 20″ shy of it’s usual average snowfall. So the storm on the way, is much needed. Towns up north never opened their snowmobile trails last winter, and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of base buildable snow.
