Board of Education members voted unanimously May 13 to pay Spencer Contracting of Arnold $585,638.83 to fix the parking lots at Ridgewood Middle School and Lone Dell Elementary School, which are both just outside of Arnold city limits, and Antonia Elementary School.

    Jefferson County residents affected by the severe March storm may apply for federal aid. FEMA announced today, May 23, that President Donald Trump has approved federal disaster assistance for Missouri residents following the storms on March 14-15 that produced tornadoes, straight-line winds and wildfires across the state. “We are pleased to see that major disaster declaration made,” said Warren Robinson, Jefferson County Office of Emergency management director.

    Holy Family Catholic Parish Picnic organizers had their prayers answered last weekend. One of those organizers, Wendy Haglin, said the strong storm that wreaked havoc in the St. Louis area on May 16 cleared out before the start of the two-day picnic held May 16-17 at the parish’s Church Road campus in Arnold. She said other than having to set some chairs back up on the parish grounds, the storm did not affect the picnic, leaving beautiful weather for the rest of the weekend.
