Top 5 Cities in Michigan for UFO SightingsTop 5 Cities in Michigan for UFO SightingsCanvaShare on FacebookShare on TwitterIf you’ve ever stared up at the Michigan sky and thought, “That definitely wasn’t a plane,” trust me, you’re not alone. Michigan has seen a lot of UFO activity over the years, some explainable, some... not so much. It's harder to be a believer in 2025 when drones are more common in the sky than ever before.

Well, if you’re planning to use I-75 in Detroit this weekend (or next), you might want to make other plans. Or at least be prepared for backups and annoying detours. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, crews are shutting down southbound I-75 between I-96 and Schaefer Road so they can add protective surfaces to four bridges. When traveling to Florida for vacation, most Michiganders pack up the car, crank the A/C, and set the cruise. A one-of-a-kind Yooper grabbed a paddle instead and decided to take the scenic route, through the Great Lakes, down the East Coast, and around Florida. The 110-pound bear was spotted on trail cameras near Atlanta, Michigan, with the lid from a 55-gallon drum stuck around its head. Yes, the poor thing had to live like that for two whole years. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been just to sleep, let alone survive day to day. That had to be awful.

If the plan for a new roundabout goes through, Nehring’s Market in Burton could be in trouble. I’m all for a solid roundabout if it means getting rid of another four-way stop, but not if it means possibly losing a beloved market that’s been part of our community for 65 years. On June 23, there is a meeting at Burton City Hall about the roundabout and possibly what it means for Nehring’s Market.
