Growing up in Miami, I thought I knew all the hidden gems the city and surrounding areas had to offer. But my mother-in-law, a true culinary treasure hunter, proved me wrong on our annual birthday trip back home. This year was her 70th, a milestone! And she insisted we try this spot she'd discovered near the Everglades National Park: Taqueria Morelia in Florida City. "Trust me," she said, "it's a must-try." And, well, you don't argue with a birthday girl.

Here in Idaho, winter can be long and gloomy. When Mother Nature begins teasing us with spring, I become quite anxious. I want to head outside and enjoy the warmer weather. One of my favorite ways to enjoy the fresh air is on a hike, and Idahoans are blessed with some of the best trails in the country. The following road trip takes you to seven hiking trails in one of my favorite areas of the Gem State.

If someone were to ask me what my favorite states in the U.S. are, one of the first ones to come to my mind is North Dakota. It's an astonishingly wonderful place, full of friendly folks, incredible hiking trails, stunning state and national parks... the list goes on for seemingly ever. One of the most underrated aspects of living in or visiting North Dakota is our incredible sunsets.

Full disclosure: I am not a morning person. So, if I had to choose between sunrise or sunset, the sunset wins every time. The colors dancing across the sky at golden hour are truly mesmerizing and nourishing for our souls. Fortunately, I live in the Sunshine State, and we are blessed with the most enchanting sunsets on the planet.

Is there anything more beautiful than a sunset? If you ask me, the only answer is "a New Jersey sunset." The Garden State may be a densely packed, busy state, but there are still many places to find a peaceful refuge to watch the sun disappear over the water. It's no surprise that the Jersey Shore is the most amazing spot for sunset views, but there are far more choices for the best sunset hikes in New Jersey than just the beach.
