    This summer, the state will offer golf courses, parks, and lake associations a "last resort" lethal option to get rid of large flocks of nuisance Canada geese. The geese will be captured during their molting phase, when they can't fly, and killed in chambers with carbon dioxide. But that's only if multiple non-lethal methods are tried and fail, said Kaitlyn Barnes, a waterfowl specialist with the state Department of Natural Resources.

    People without legal status in Michigan have a big decision ahead of them. On Thursday, a federal judge said the Trump administration could require people without legal status to register with the government — and also require them to carry proof of registration with them at all times. Refusing to register could land people in jail and mean fines as well. Ruby Robinson is with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center.

    Democratic U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan has introduced a bill to allow the U.S. commerce secretary to ban Chinese car imports and car parts if they're deemed a national security threat. It's the first bill Slotkin has led since she took office in January. Slotkin said there are risks to American security interests from the sophisticated devices often found in electric cars made by Chinese manufacturers.
