MACON COUNTY, Mo. — A man was arrested following a high-speed pursuit in northeast Missouri. According to a social media post, Macon County Sheriff's Office took a report of a stolen vehicle from Ethel, Missouri on Saturday. Investigators learned that vehicle may be heading towards Kirksville. After being asked to assist, a La Plata officer spotted and attempted to stop it on State Highway 156, near State Highway 3. The driver fled at a high rate of speed.

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — There was a major law enforcement presence outside of the Adair County Jail in downtown Kirksville Tuesday evening. Adair County Sheriff Jason Lene told KTVO several detention officers were assaulted by an inmate, who retreated as authorities called for backup. The inmate was later taken into custody and to a medical facility for treatment. Lene confirmed there were injuries, none of which were serious, but he could not give a specific number.
