A pedestrian was killed in a crash Friday in Clay County when she was struck by a pickup, according to a media release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Cara Dianne Chitwood, 42, of Henrietta was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries she sustained in the crash at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Juan L. Gutierrez, DPS spokesperson, said in a media release.

The annual American Plains Artists Summer Show is returning to Fort Concho on June 19, a media release said. The free opening will be 5:30-7 p.m. June 19 in the Barracks 6 exhibit hall at the corner of Henry O. Flipper and Burgess streets, Fort Concho officials said in the media release.

Early voting for a San Angelo City Council runoff race will continue through Tuesday. Runoff election day will be June 7 for Dudra Butler and Joe Self Jr., who are vying for the District 2 seat. They were the top two vote-getters in the May 3 General Election. No candidate in the three-way field, including John Bariou, garnered 50% plus at least one vote to avoid a runoff. A longtime Wichita Falls staple on the chain restaurant scene reopened on Kemp Boulevard Tuesday with a new look, according to a media release. Long John Silver's at 4413 Kemp Blvd. is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday through Saturday, the media release said Tuesday.

A Snyder man was killed as a result of a rollover crash Sunday in Scurry County, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety media release. Roy Edward Bolen Jr., 54, died because of a one-vehicle crash that happened about 7:50 p.m. Sunday near Snyder, DPS officials said in a media release Monday. The preliminary investigation revealed Bolen was driving a white 2001 Ford F-250 west on U.S. Highway 180 when he lost control of the pickup 5 miles west of Snyder, DPS officials said.
