Very cold air is here, Snow showers move in Tuesday

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Arctic blast has arrived in the Chattahoochee Valley. It will be sunny, cold and dry Monday. As we add some moisture, snow showers are in the forecast Tuesday. Impacts will be felt across much of the region, regardless of how much snow you receive. COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The above average August heat continues but humidity remains tolerable over the next couple days. Then, the mugginess starts to return mid to late week. Tons of sun and heat on this Monday. After starting off near 70 degrees early on, highs reach 93 to 97 degrees. Not too muggy, in fact the heat index won't be an issue compared to the temperature. Clear and seasonable with lows early Tuesday mostly between 70 and 75 degrees.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The above average heat and humidity will continue Friday with not much reprieve anytime soon. The only difference this weekend is that there will be a little better chance of showers and storms. Friday will be very similar to Thursday. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Only a few stray to isolated showers and storms are in the forecast during the afternoon and evening at best. Highs between 96 and 99 degrees with feels like temperatures exceeding 105 degrees again in many cases.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - As the workweek progresses, the heat and humidity will become more oppressive than we've seen the last few weeks. Rain and storms won't be completely removed from the forecast, but should be less widespread most days than what we have seen lately. Partly cloudy on this Tuesday with a chance of spotty showers and storms. Rain coverage should be closer to 30 or 40% during the afternoon.

Expect a wet and stormy Wednesday afternoon with a gradual drying trend the rest of the workweek and heading into the weekend. Mostly cloudy on this Wednesday. While a stray or isolated shower is possible early in the day, we avoid most of the rain through the morning. Between 11 and Noon, the first storms of the day will start popping up.

The best chance of scattered showers and storms will be during the afternoon and early evening with rain coverage around 50%. Highs mostly in the mid to upper 80s. COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Heat levels are on the rise over the next few days, but it stays mostly dry through the weekend. Rain chances gradually return as next week progresses. More sun than clouds on this Friday. Get ready for a quick rise in temperatures as we top out between 95 and 98 degrees by the end of the afternoon. Humidity is still in check but it will still be very hot. Mostly clear tonight with temperatures in the 80s after sunset.
