Big Country, TEXAS — The calendar might say June, but there's football being played this weekend at Shotwell Stadium. The teams, Blue and Red, were led by a couple of Big Country coaches: Mitch Ables from Hawley and Jason Meng from Wylie.

Abilene is known as the Storybook Capital of America; and for good reason. That's because Children’s authors and illustrators are celebrated for their work throughout the year in events like the C.A.L.F. However, at the NCCIL or National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, the message of creativity and a passion for the Arts is spread to families from across Big Country every day for free in a variety of ways.
