    Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Texas raised more than $1 million at a May event to support the nonprofit's mission of building affordable homes. The Building Hope Gala, the 12th gala event held by the organization, took place May 3 with a Kentucky Derby theme. About 600 guests attended and participated in silent and live auctions, raffles and other events to help raise money.
