Machaela Jackson, a mother of 4, currently receives $70 a month in SNAP benefits. She worries about what her benefits may look like if the act passes.

A state of emergency was declared Thursday night for the area. Now everyone is cleaning up the wreckage left behind by the storm. It’s truly devastating to see the amount of damage community members on Johnson Street experienced after Thursday night’s storm.

This comes as a loss in funding is impacting the day-to-day operations for several DarJune Recovery houses. For almost 11 years, the DarJune Recovery Program has worked to support those battling addiction.
