A boy has died Saturday after they were pulled from a retention pond on Friday in Wake County. Around 12:40 p.m., firefighters and EMS responded to a water treatment plant on Hasentree Way near Wake Forest. Sky 5 flew over the large emergency response at 1:15 p.m.First responders provided CPR to the child, who was found in the pond, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. The child was transported to a hospital in life-threatening condition.

A banner promoting a white nationalist website was found at Durham's American Tobacco Campus on Saturday night. It prompted restaurant employees to tear the banner down. American Tobacco Campus security footage showed three men hanging a banner Saturday night directing people to a website for Patriot Front, which is identified by the Anti-Defamation League as a white nationalist hate group. About an hour after the sign went up, employees of the Seraphine restaurant ripped down the banner.

Police are looking into a fatal shooting on Tuesday in east Durham during a spike in gun violence in the Bull City. Tuesday's shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Holloway Street. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds around 9:40 a.m. Authorities declared him dead at the scene. Holloway Street was closed between Raynor Street and Guthrie Avenue while officers investigated.

Some Durham students could have to walk to school. Durham Public Schools [DPS], like many across the country, is dealing with a bus driver shortage. The district has record demand from families for bus service. Durham parents have told WRAL News they’ll send their kids off to the bus stop. However, many times the school bus never arrives. DPS is looking for solutions to better balance the number of students who need a ride with the shortage of bus drivers.

Police provide details after cars shot at along I-40 in Wake CountyShootings along Interstate 40 in Wake County are causing concerns for drivers and Raleigh police. Multiple cars were hit by gunfire on Wednesday morning along Interstate 40 near Chapel Hill Road, days after getting similar reports of cars being shot at on Monday. The calls stem from a stretch of I-40 in Raleigh and Cary from Chapel Hill Road to Gorman Street to Buck Jones Road.
