Local police have called on the community to help locate two missing people from the Geelong and Surf Coast areas. 17-year-old Isabella was last seen on Hillside Parade in Torquay on Friday April 11, its understood they could now be in the Grovedale area. Police say they were last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, grey and white leggings with a black jacket.

A man will face court after being arrested during a dramatic foot chase in Geelong’s CBD on Monday. The 34-year-old was run down by officers on Ryrie Street around 3.35pm. Police say he was charged with a string of offences, including seven counts of possessing a drug of dependence, and one count of possessing a controlled weapon.

The Liberals will put forward $40-thousand to install CCTV cameras on Pakington Street in Geelong West, if the Coalition wins the upcoming Federal Election. Liberal candidate for Corio Darren Buller announced the funding will come from a revitalised Safer Communities Fund, which will provide nine cameras. The commitment comes following a community safety forum and a reported spike in crime and anti-social behaviour on Pako.

A rider had been taken to hospital with several broken bones after colliding with a tree while riding their mountain bike in the You Yangs on Sunday. Emergency crews were called to to the You Yangs National Park around 2.10pm, to find the cyclist with multiple bone fractures. Firefighters alongside SES crews needed to help extract them out of the area and onto a stretcher, they were carried to a location where paramedics could assess them.
