A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a ute on the Great Ocean Road on Friday morning. The crash happened around 10.30am in Eastern View, where it’s understood a grey Ford Ranger towing a caravan collided with the motorbike. The yet to formally identified rider sadly died at the scene, while the driver of the Ford wasn’t injured.

There has been a major emergency response on the Bellarine Peninsula on Friday morning, after a helicopter carrying three people crashed off Point Lonsdale. It’s believed the chopper was seen crashing into water off Fellows Road just after 10am, with all three on board managing to make it to shore, where they located by passersby.

An alleged drink driver has been caught more the double the speed limit in the early hours of Thursday morning in Moolap. Police doing their regular patrols a silver Toyota travelling at excessive speed down Ryrie Street in the East Geelong area. Perusing officers managed to catch up with the car on Portarlington Road in Moolap, police saying a roadside speed camera picked up the vehicle travelling 130km/h in the 60-zone.

Police will investigate after a car was found well alight in Moolap on Wednesday morning. Fire crews were called to the blaze on Woods Rd around 6.20am, finding the vehicle on fire and bringing it under control within 15 minutes. The blaze had caused a small grass fire around the scene as well, but there was no threat of spreading.
