Espinoza got 58 percent of the vote compared to 42 percent for McAlister. In the initial election May 3, neither candidate got fifty percent of the vote. Previously, incumbent Kyle McAlister got 2,591 votes, Miguel Espinoza got 2,237 votes and Cynthia Alvidrez received 377 votes.

    It happened in the 200 block of N. Bishop in San Angelo. The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT) arrested 43-year-old Steven A. West. They said West was actively evading law enforcement for Felon in Possession of a Firearm charges and other offenses. They said he was considered a flight risk and was taken into custody without incident. The operation took place after a coordinated investigation by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division.

    EASTLAND, Texas — Eastland police said a man has died after a bee attack in Eastland. They were dispatched to a crash in the 700 block of North Lamar Street April 27 at about 4:30 p.m.Officers said they found the driver of the vehicle being swarmed by bees. Officers immediately evacuated the driver from the area and placed him inside a police vehicle to escape further bee stings. Police requested an ambulance and said the driver became unresponsive and stopped breathing in the ambulance.

    ABILENE, Texas — The race for Place 5 on the Abilene City Council is headed for a runoff. No candidate got fifty percent of the vote. RELATED | RESULTS: May 3 City and School ElectionsKyle McAlister got 2,591 votes, Miguel Espinoza got 2,237 votes and Cynthia Alvidrez received 377 votes. That means McAlister and Espinoza will face off in a runoff set for June 7th.
