ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - A Troy, Tennessee man was arrested Monday by the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force after a vehicle stop and search. Don Paul Stovall, 51, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. At 1 p.m., the task force performed a traffic stop on a 2005 GMC vehicle driven by Stovall.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Sophomore Jack Bennett was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, as announced by league officials Monday afternoon. Bennett, a native of Paducah was one out short of a complete-game on Friday night in a 4-1 win over the No. 8 ranked Dallas Baptist Patriots in the series opener. The right-hander registered, a career-high, 11 strikeouts in the longest outing of his collegiate career while only conceding one run on four hits and three walks.

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - A Bowling Green woman was arrested in Edmonson County on Friday after nearly hitting a deputy head on while driving. Ponda Bennett, 48, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, first-degree and second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, second-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and reckless driving.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - WKU Women’s Tennis fell 4-1 to North Alabama and beat Kentucky Wesleyan 7-0 on Thursday at the Warren County Tennis Facility at Michael O. Buchanon Park. The loss to North Alabama (13-7) ended WKU’s program-record eight-match home winning streak, but the Lady Toppers bounced back with the win over Kentucky Wesleyan (1-11) to move to 13-8 overall and 10-2 at home this season.
