In a statement, the UK-listed food delivery business said it decided to exit the Hong Kong market through a sale of certain assets to Singaporean delivery platform Foodpanda and the closure of other assets. Liquidators have been nominated by Deliveroo Hong Kong to manage closure of the Hong Kong business and the remainder of its assets in the most efficient way possible. Delivery Hero, parent company of Foodpanda, has confirmed the acquisition of selected assets from the liquidators.

- A group of 70 female chefs and hospitality professionals have signed an open letter describing the industry as ‘systematically flawed’. The letter, addressed to ‘all those who benefit from the joys of dining out’ and published by The Telegraph, has been spearheaded by London-based chefs Sally Abé of The Pem and Dara Klein of Tiella, and signed by highprofile names including Chantelle Nicholson, Poppy O’Toole and Candice Brown.

Goodfellow & Goodfellow and TRUEfoods have launched a competition that gives young chefs a national platform to showcase their plating skills. Plated has a £10,000 price pot and will see chefs under 30 submit their best dish photos to be paper judged ahead of a live final at the TRUEfoods development kitchen in North Yorkshire on 26 April. The competition will be judged by Jason Atherton and Spencer Metzger. The deadline for entries is 10 March and more details can be found here.
