AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Fire said 24 people were displaced by a fire at an apartment building Friday night. Around 9:40 p.m., callers told dispatch there were people trapped in the building located in the 1400 block of North Kingston Street. Hose lines were advanced to the first and second floors, and ladders were placed at exterior windows to help any residents who could not get out due to heavy smoke and zero visibility in the hallways.
