    ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Saint Louis Zoo says goodbye to a polar bear who had been residing at the zoo for more than close to a decade. The zoo announced Wednesday that Kali, who had been at the Zoo since 2015, will head to Toledo Zoo and Aquarium. In exchange, the zoo will receive a pair of polar bear twins Kallik and Kallu, who were born at Toledo Zoo in November 2022 and are named for Indigenous words for Lightning and Thunder.

    ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A 28-year-old man was arrested by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers on Monday for at-large warrants after he allegedly assaulted and punched a 70-year-old woman. Willie Scott-Wilkes, 28, was charged with third degree assault on a special victim and tampering with a witness. Back on Feb. 8 Scott-Wilkes allegedly assaulted a 70-year-old woman on the 7800 block of North Broadway after the woman noticed Scott-Wilkes was illegally dumping his trash.

    ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - An Edwardsville, Illinois couple who ran a local non-profit in St. Louis has been accused of stealing more than $7 million that was supposed to feed low-income Missouri children. Diarra Williams, 30, and Nicholas Warford, 31, were indicted on Feb. 26 with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, six counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering and one count of obstruction of an official proceeding.

    ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place overnight. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, at 9:30 p.m. Monday, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 8100 block of Old Highway 21, north of Hillsboro, for a report of a man banging on the home's door. When deputies arrived, the man, who identity has not yet been revealed, pointed a handgun towards his head.

    ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A quiet Saturday for police at Mardi Gras in Soulard, at least compared to years past. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says 12 people were arrested or given summons over the weekend during the Mardi Gras celebrations. Seven of those arrests were for underage drinking and were issued summons and released. Three people were arrested on at-large warrant for third-degree assault.
