    It’s been almost 100 days of Daniel Lurie as San Francisco mayor. During his 13-month-long campaign, Lurie promised to make streets safer and cleaner, to crack down on  open-air drug markets, revitalize downtown, and reduce homelessness. He has worked with the Board of Supervisors to pass legislation to expedite contracts related to homelessness, drug overdoses, and substance use, and pushed the board to let go of some of its oversight power.

Longtime labor organizer Chyanne Chen won the race for District 11 Supervisor by just 198 votes — defeating Michael Lai, a recent arrival to the district.

    The newly sworn-in Mayor Daniel Lurie this morning named his first major department head: Battalion Chief Dean Crispen, a 34-year veteran of the fire department, will lead the department as the fire chief. He will be sworn in on Jan. 21. Crispen has served as captain of stations in Chinatown, North Beach, and SoMa, and as currently serves as a battalion chief.
