AbstractDiagnostic tests usually need to operate at a high sensitivity or specificity level in practice. Accordingly, specificity at the controlled sensitivity, or vice versa, is a clinically sensible performance metric for evaluating continuous biomarkers. Meanwhile, the performance of a biomarker may vary across sub-populations as defined by covariates, and covariate-specific evaluation can be informative.

MOTIVATION: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has been widely used to decompose complex tissues into functionally distinct cell types. The first and usually the most important step of scRNA-seq data analysis is to accurately annotate the cell labels. In recent years, many supervised annotation methods have been developed and shown to be more convenient and accurate than unsupervised cell clustering.

1. IntroductionThe surge in high-speed computing tasks—ranging from target tracking and machine vision to scientific exploration—has escalated the need for advanced CMOS image sensors characterized by superior frame rates and responsiveness. CMOS image sensors generally integrate analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) for multi-bit quantization.
