Additionally, they manage Statewide News and collaborate with KTOO in Juneau and KYUK in Bethel for a shared television service. Together, Alaska Public Media and its partners provide content that reaches 97% of Alaska's population.

A proposed ordinance to criminalize camping in Anchorage’s public spaces brought a huge crowd to the city’s Assembly meeting Tuesday. South Anchorage Assembly member Keith McCormick’s ordinance – co-sponsored by Eagle River-Chugiak Assembly members Jared Goecker and Scott Myers – would make camping in a public area a class B misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of up to six months in prison and a $2,000 fine.

What you need to know:Floodwaters along the Old Glenn Highway in Butte continued to slowly recede. Monday as state crews cleared a path, built an access road and prepared to repair a broken revetment along the Matanuska River to stop the flow of water. About 3,000 tons of gravel are being used to construct the road. Crews will repair the revetment with large rock known as riprap. A National Weather Service flood advisory for the area remains in effect through Wednesday night.

A man who allegedly impersonated an American to board a cruise ship last month was arrested twice in Juneau on charges including fraud, theft and attempted escape. Authorities say Enrico Ronquillo, 37, used a Californian’s name to board the Discovery Princess cruise ship in Seattle. State troopers arrested Ronquillo, who was federally charged May 14 with false impersonation of a U.S. citizen, making and using a false document, and two counts of aggravated identity theft.
