Defending champions Torquay has pulled off another handy off-season move by signing former Anglesea goal kicker Blake Grant. Grant, who had played footy at Donald FC with friend, former Roo and champion North Geelong pace ace Dale Kerr, last turned out for Anglesea in an elimination final in 2021 against Ocean Grove. However, Tigers premiership coach Dom Gleeson told this masthead Torquay had snared the ex-Roo through Grant’s friendship with fellow forward, Lucas Anderson.

A concerning grassfire burning in Adelaide’s north near Gawler on Saturday has prompted CFS to alert locals. The state’s CFS issued the ‘Watch and Act’ warning at 1.30pm for Buchfelde, about 3km west of Gawler, near Gawler River. Firefighters along with five aircraft and MFS crews are battling the blaze and will remain at the scene until the fire is fully extinguished.

Midway through today’s show, Jackie O revealed to her co-host that the mystery guest she’d organised was Australian comedian Dave Hughes. She confessed she had a “bit of apprehension,” given the pair have publicly locked horns since as far back as 2007.
