BBC Radio 4 Today
The Today program first aired on the BBC's Home Service on October 28, 1957, with Jack de Manio as its leading voice starting in 1958. In the late 1970s, John Timpson and Brian Redhead formed a well-known and influential duo. Redhead famously remarked, "If you want to drop a word in the ear of the nation, then this is the programme in which to do it." This partnership lasted until Timpson's retirement in 1986, after which John Humphrys and Sue MacGregor became part of the regular presenting lineup. Over the years, other notable presenters have included Barry Norman, Desmond Lynam, Jenni Murray, James Naughtie, and Anna Ford. Additional voices that have graced the show include Libby Purves, Peter Hobday, and Carolyn Quinn. Currently, the presenting team features John Humphrys, Martha Kearney, Mishal Husain, Justin Webb, and Nick Robinson.

Luke McCowan was left in acres of space for the third and Adam Idah had the simplest of tasks to tap in the fifth and final goal.
