C'mon Reds, do something! The Cincinnati Reds need to add some pop to their lineup, and Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. could be the perfect player to do just that. While Robert's current .619 OPS doesn't exactly scream All-Star, his track record — when healthy — does. Robert has a career .262/.314/.464 slash line and won the Silver Slugger Award in 2023.

For a guy with almost 25 years of managing under his belt, Terry Francona doesn't get tossed from games very often. He has the third-most career ejections among active managers, but that's partially because how long his career has been; by comparison, the Giants' Bob Melvin, who comes second in the active pack, has 64 ejections in 22 years managing to Francona's 51 and 24. The 51st came on Thursday, in the bottom of the 11th as the Reds engaged in another extra inning battle against the Braves.

Here we are again. Austin Hays could be back from the injured list as early as Friday afternoon, and most Cincinnati Reds fans probably think that's not soon enough. The Reds have been without Hays since April 29, and the team's offense has taken a nosedive with him out of the lineup. While Hays is a big part of what the Reds are trying to do this season, he can't matter that much. Hays, coming off a down-year in 2024, was arguably the Reds' biggest offseason signing — and that's not saying much.

Is the Reds newcomer worth it? Gavin Lux has been a breath of fresh air for the Cincinnati Reds this season. An offseason trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers brought Lux to Cincinnati, and he's been one of the Reds' most consistent bats throughout the first month-plus of the 2025 season. If this trend continues, the Reds may want to think about keeping the 27-year-old in the Queen City beyond his arbitration window.

How long can the Reds afford to wait? Christian Encarnacion-Strand has been on the injured list since mid-April with a lower back issue. The Cincinnati Reds' first baseman has been doing some light running of late, but the latest update didn't reveal any sort of timeline for Encarnacion-Strand's return to the lineup. Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game, but at some point, Encarncacion-Strand will have to put those issues in the rearview mirror and find a way to stay on the field.
