A special ceremony was held in downtown Winnipeg as the city officially renamed a portion of the Disraeli Bridge Roadway to the Bachman-Turner Overdrive, in honour of the legendary Winnipeg rock band. It was a frigid April day, but that didn't stop dozens of adoring fans from showing up for the ceremony to watch the band known as BTO get immortalized on the streets they've always called home.

Starting May 1 st, Manitoba will be rolling out a COVID-19 vaccination campaign for high-risk groups, recommending that people get vaccinated before the summer. Until June 30th, adults 65 and up, Indigenous people over the age of 45, residents of long-term care homes, and immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months and up, will be eligible to receive an additional COVID-19 vaccine dose, as long as it's been more than three months since their most recent one.

Easter came a little early at Siloam Mission, where the organization served up a special lunch for over 700 people experiencing homelessness in downtown Winnipeg. "There's just a nice vibe going on-people are grateful to receive the meal, and people are also really grateful to be able to give their time. A lot of the volunteers are mixing with the staff, who are always doing this job. We've got an amazing direct service team," said Julianne Aitken, interim CEO at Siloam Mission.

The Winnipeg Jets are heading into their first-round playoff series against the St. Louis Blues this weekend with high hopes-coming off a Presidents' Trophy win and setting a franchise record in wins. While expectations are high among Jets fans, the same can't be said outside of Winnipeg. Legal gambling sites, like Odds Shark, have the Jets outside of the top five teams with the best odds to win the Stanley Cup, despite their league-leading record.

More concerns are being raised about a Winnipeg landlord renting what some claim are low-quality rentals at high prices creating problems for vulnerable tenants, but the landlord says Manitoba's Residential Tenancies Branch is the body to rule on concerns tenants have brought forward about the properties.
