    A man has been charged with second-degree murder following a suspicious fire and death in Centreville, N.S., early Saturday morning. Kings District RCMP, the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department and EHS responded to a report of a structure fire on Anthony Avenue around 3 a.m. First responders discovered a home engulfed in flames. Crews were able to extinguish the fire. Police say six people were able to escape the home and no one was injured.

    A six-year-old girl has died following a house fire in Lower Sackville, N.S., over the weekend, according to an online fundraiser for her family. RCMP, ambulance and fire crews responded to a report of a fire at a duplex on Riverside Drive around 3:10 a.m. Saturday. Police said a 40-year-old man was rescued by his neighbour and taken to hospital by EHS in critical condition. Three children, aged five, six, and nine, were also taken to hospital by EHS, according to an RCMP news release.
