Two Republicans joined all House Democrats in approving the measure, 102-98. House Bill 1500 now moves to the state Senate for further consideration. The lead reform proposed in the bill is capping annual tuition rates at the public schools at $8,000 for non-special education students. Multipliers are included to account for the higher cost of special education.
