Dressed in her cap and gown, tassel turned to the left, she waved to someone in the crowd. “Pomp and Circumstance” played on the speakers. Doctors didn’t give Godfrey much of a chance. Not to stand. Not to walk. Certainly, not to graduate college. Godfrey wasn’t given much of a chance to do, well, anything.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Amtrak Board of Directors nominee Robert Gleason Jr., a Westmont resident, pointed to the positive impact that increasing passenger rail service could potentially make for Johnstown and other small communities during his confirmation hearing on Tuesday. A century or so ago, two dozen passenger trains passed through Johnstown daily. That number is down to two – one eastbound, one westbound – in current times.

SFG has more than 40 locations with the goal of providing “cutting-edge fertility care,” while supporting “patients’ physical, emotional and financial needs,” according to its website. It offers procedures such as IVF, egg donor treatment, donor embryo treatment and egg freezing.

HARRISBURG — Out-of-pocket costs for diagnostic breast exams would be eliminated under a bill that passed through the Pennsylvania House on Monday. House Bill 1944 introduced by Rep. Gina Curry, D-Delaware County, would add diagnostic exams as the minimum coverage required by insurance providers.

HARRISBURG — A bill that would benefit first-time homebuyers easily cleared the Pennsylvania House on Monday, advancing a proposal seeking to establish a tax-deductible savings program. State representatives voted 183-20 in support of House Bill 818, sending the measure to the state Senate for further consideration. The First-time Homebuyer Savings Account Program was reintroduced by Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, for the 2025-26 session.
