The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking the public for help identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 417 in Ottawa Thursday afternoon. It happened shortly after 5 p.m. on the highway eastbound near Parkdale Avenue. “The driver was involved in a collision and tried to flee the scene, striking the other driver while they stood outside their car,” the OPP said in a post on X.

Crews are continuing demolition work along Beach Area One this week as Wasaga Beach begins one of the most significant redevelopment projects in its history, a transformation that will see new homes and businesses built where some of the town’s most familiar structures once stood.
