In the cockpit of an American Airlines MD-80, I bring you this new chapter, Economy Class and Beyond, which builds on my previous blog, GhettoIFE. Virgin Atlantic prepares to launch its Seoul service, as well building out eastwards

It’s been long rumoured, but it seems that Virgin Atlantic is ready to add Seoul, South Korea to its network, as well as working on the eastern part of its network. The flight is finally going ahead, as part of the Korean Air/Asiana Airlines merger, as part of the competition concerns on the route. You will have to wait as it is timetabled to begin on 31st March 2026.
EVA Air to launch a Tapei to Dallas-Fort Worth Route

EVA Air is expanding its North American network – this time with the airline setting its sights on Dallas-Fort Worth. EVA Air Boeing 777-300ER – Image, Economy Class and Beyond. The new flight by EVA Air will launch on the 3rd October 2025, operating three times a week. It marks an expansion of its current cargo-only service.

It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art. This week, we have an easyJet Switzerland Airbus A320 at Hamburg Airport as it prepares to head home to Basel Airport. easyJet Switzerland is a Swiss-based franchisee of the easyJet brand, with easyJet owning 49% of the airline. It operates a fleet of 23 Airbus A320 and 7 Airbus A320neo aircraft in its short-to-medium haul network.

The human body is an odd thing. Some of you might remember I have an Asthma problem. Time to turn our eyes to Mongola, where the first Embraer E195-E2 has landed, with it planned to operate for Hunnu Air. This marks the first of two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which have been delivered by Azorra to Hunnu Air, marking a new partnership for the lessor and the first E2 to operate in Mongolia.
Singapore Airlines prepares to invest in its lounges at Changi Terminal 2

Singapore Airlines is preparing to upgrade and transform its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 over the next two years, investing S$45 million to elevate the on-ground customer experience at its main hub. Renovations will begin on 15 April 2025, progressing in phases, with completion expected around mid-2027.

Just before AIX, Panasonic Avionics announced that had completed major tests in its Multi-Orbit platform. Well, it seems they snuck out a customer for it – Discover Airlines. Discover Airlines will be the first airline in the Lufthansa Group, as well as one of the first airlines in the world to gradually install the Panasonic Avionics Multi-Orbit connectivity on its long-haul aircraft.

It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art. This week, we have an EgyptAir Boeing 777-300ER as it prepares to touch down at London Heathrow Airport. EgyptAir operates a fleet of four Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in its widebody fleet. The airline also operates Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 787-9 in its widebody fleet. These are used on medium to long-haul routes out of the airline’s hub at Cairo International Airport. The aircraft shown today is SU-GDN.
